Movin' On

I guess I should make an official announcement here. After a few interviews and some money spent, we have decided to move to Iowa City to attend the University of Iowa. Go Hawks!

I am so excited. I'm glad your family is coming here. Just wondering, do you want me to post a picture of Iowa City with snow now, or do you just want to see it for yourself next winter? Evil laugh inserted here. Other than a couple yucky months of snow, it's usually really mild and beautiful. The races are great and the school is awesome. I'm just so glad to FINALLY have family that will live within a couple miles of us.

I can see the building where Jason works in this picture! I'm glad you are going here, too! Congratulations all around!!!

Wow, Lance, you must have jumped really high to snap that picture.

Congrats on the decision. May you have lots of muggy summers and brutal winters. Wait, that's mean. May you enjoy your muggy summers and brutal winters. Wait, that's still mean. May you enjoy home teaching your brother and his family. Wait, that's ... ha ha ha.

In reality, I think Iowa would be awesome. I love the Midwest. I just wish some of those Midwestern states didn't lead the nation in teenage binge drinking (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/01/24/illinois-alcohol-abuse-mi_n_1224930.html).

Jess you are not helping. :)

Yeah, sorry! I really mean what I said in my second paragraph. I like the Midwest. My biggest problem -- and now that I'm a parent it scares me -- was really a lack of good, meaningful options for youth. I remember living in Indiana and the activities people participated in were basketball, work, procreating, and drinking.

Having said that, Iowa City is much bigger than Walton, Indiana!

Being close to family, especially so many years removed, will be an awesome experience for all of you guys. Maybe we should move to Kansas City!

Don't worry, I'll do my best to keep John and Ted from drinking during the two years we are there. I know it is tempting for toddlers.

Only the most righteous and most brave Mormons can raise their kids outside of Utah. ;)

Thanks Mom. My building is just across from Jason's lab just out of the picture. Well, I'll be taking classes in multiple buildings but primarily the public health building and the business building.
