Now that conference is over, I was wondering what you all thought. Which were your "favorites"? There's always a few that get me. Bro Holland's talk on gratitude was amazing. Also, Elder Eyring's talk was one I'll read over and over. Then there's Bro Lawrence's talk. I think that answered a lot of things for me. I feel validated in some respects after his talk. I'm glad he mentioned the sleepover thing, too. We've not let our kids have sleepovers (other than the occasional night at family's houses) and it's been a tough one for them to accept. They just make me too nervous~ especially since Sarah has such an outgoing personality and not enough caution. Bro Arnold's talk was fabulous too. All of them were great. I just love how they all seem to speak directly to you, and it becomes easy to apply to your life.
I also thought it was interesting how many of them quoted the same verses and spoke of our choices. Think it was a coincidence?? It almost felt like a warning of sorts.
Overall, what a fabulous weekend. Brent said Elder Uchtdorf's talk on pride (from priesthood session) was excellent too. Then again, priesthood session always sounds great.

I loved Elder Holland's for personal reasons. I was interested that he noted the "under used and under appreciated" members of the church. I was happy that he expressed gratitude for them and everyone.
Elder Eyring's talk proved to me once again why I think he a modern-day Ammon. His humility is unbelievable.
Pres. Monson's last talk was also stirring.
I noticed that there were many, many talks geared to the sin that can get inside of us in subtle ways and the great destruction it can cause -- fences, trees, cows getting out of their pasture, etc., were analogies to point out the danger of letting sin get to us a little at a time.
Again, pornography was really hit upon. And I loved Elder Ballard's talk where he talked about addictions of various kinds, including texting. :)
It was a great session. I can't wait to get the Ensign and read the priesthood session talks.
Elder Holland hasn't disappointed for a long time. Loved Pres. Uchtdorf's tree ring segue into flying a plane. Loved the British dude in the priesthood session (the scorpion and flip flop talk). Loved Pres. Eyring's last talk. Very nice. Elder Ballard gave similar messages to our stake just a few months ago when he visited. Laughed that nearly every prayer was offered by someone with a foreign accent. -Jess
