Robert Grant, FBI special agent in charge of the Chicago office, characterized Illinois' place in the pantheon of political corruption.
"If it isn't the most corrupt state in the United States, it's certainly one [heck] of a competitor," Grant said. "Even the most cynical agents in our office were shocked."

Illinois has always been a hotbed of political corruptness. Maybe that's one of the reasons I was skeptical about Obama being better than the rest. To his defense, however, I heard on the news today that the governor is furious at Obama because Obama refused to play his games. I hope that is the truth.
It's disgusting, that's for sure.
I had not read this article but Mike told me about it yesterday. Seriously ridiculous.
Reports today are that he is being asked to resign. I can't figure out what part of "arrested for fraud" isn't enough to get a governor removed from office.
I agree with Jess. He shouldn't be able to resign. He should immediately be fired. As you can imagine, this story gets a lot of radio time out here. It is ridiculous. Keep in mind, the last gov. of IL is currently in prison also.
I guess this lattest example of secret combinations is now not so secret. Maybe we are not yet "ripe", but we look like we are heading there.
