Open Room

Today we got the corner of the living room torn out. We also got the ugly board (below) torn out. I was really worried someone would step on these huge nails. It's gone now.

We hired two young guys that are electricians to do the wiring that we could not do. One of them spent about two hours in the attic. They did three-way switches, removed old wires, re-routed circuits, etc. They did not do anything with the lighting in the kitchen. We'll leave that to Jess. And we decided not to switch out the sockets from ivory to white until we are done painting. I think we can do that on our own as well.
Jim has been great at cleaning up. I would sweep and vacuum and then he would go behind me and do a better job. I think he must have vacuumed 10 times today.
We had to remove one of the sheet rock arches to put in a new switch but it's now back in place.
 The two electricians.
I have to give a shout out to Chad. He is one hard worker. And he seems to like it! He spent all afternoon helping rip things out, including the floor in the pantry. Kaitlin cleaned up and picked up pieces. She also helped pull more staples. I';m pretty sure he is going to be one sore man tonight. Thanks, Chad! You rock.

Ammon surveying the new-found space which he loves.  We are going to love this room!
