Favorite Conference Quotes

I got busy looking on Pinterest today for General Conference quotes from this last weekend. Luckily I struck gold and found almost all my favorites! I thought I would share my favorite quotes with you all. What was your favorite talk?

This one was one of my FAVORITE talks. Especially since all of us live all over the states. I dont think you need to raise your kids in Utah to raise good kids. Its all up to us as parents- and most of the time we can't control what decisions our kids make as they get older. We can only do so much. I think all of you are doing great as parents and you all have raised amazing kids.  Think about how all of us grew up in different states- and we all turned out alright! :)

I really loved all the talks, but my most favorite this year has to be the one from Jeffrey R. Holland.

And these quotes from him were so powerful to me.
"Hold fast to what you already know and stand strong until additional knowledge comes. When problems come and questions arise. Do not start your quest for Faith by saying how much you do not have, leading as it were with your unbelief. That's like trying to stuff a turkey through the beak. I am not asking you to be true to the faith you do not have. I am asking you to be true to the Faith you do have."

he heard a 14 year old boy once say
"I can't say yet that I know the church is true, but I believe it is"

Brother Holland said, "I wanted to hug that boy until his eyes popped out. Belief is always the first step of conviction. Never apologize for only believing."

I also love the talk by Dallin H. Oaks

I'm with Michelle. We were both really impressed with Elder Holland's talk and Elder Oaks' talk. I came home this morning from teaching at the gym to find Michelle watching Elder Holland's talk.

Who ever said you need to raise your kids in Utah? I cherished my time growing up in each place I lived.

My favorite talk was Craig Cardon's talk from Saturday morning. When he started, I thought he looked goofy and had an ugly tie on (yes, I know I'm shallow) but his talk really hit me.

While normally I wouldn't choose Elder Bednar's talks (he never seems to have a sense of humor and is very serious all the time), I thought his talk about why chastity is important is one that will go down in church history like Pres. Benson's talk on pride. I think every parent should print that talk and sit down with their children whenever they talk about the facts of life. This gives a "reason" why we should be chaste. He didn't mince words. Kids need to understand that God always has reasons for commandments and this was spelled out clearly and eloquently.
I also loved Elder Holland's talk - isn't is amazing how he can take a small little story out of the scriptures and just make it come alive?! He swear he has been to that spot and has seen what has happened. He is amazing. I liked Elder Hollands as well - and I loved Sister Dalton's.
It was a good conference.
