The Pulitzer is mine

A few weeks ago, I contacted a couple of local media outlets to try to drum up some coverage of the race I am directing this weekend.  I got an email from the community sports editor saying that they would be interested in publishing something about the race.  I was pretty excited.  The catch was that he wanted me to write the piece.  What a gig.  You get someone else to write for you and you just do a bit of editing and there you go, your job as a journalist is done.  Anyway, I wrote the piece: http://thegazette.com/2013/01/20/community-indoor-triathlon-offer-unique-challenges/

As a by product, I was asked if I would write a monthly column about triathlons.  Now if I could just get paid to write...

Good job. Run and write. That is the thing. I read your article and it was good. I have never heard of such a thing as an indoor triathelon. Good luck to you.

Definitely a good gig. That's the job I want! And who knows, maybe after some time, you'll be in a position to ask them to pay you to write that monthly column.
