Oh.... My..... Heck!

I can't believe what's happened to my kitchen! Oh my heck! Jim got it all torn apart today, cupboards out countertop gone, oven gone, etc. The new oven comes tomorrow morning so he had to get this all done. I'm a little panicked -- I'm going to be without cupboards and countertops for at least a year. Hopefully we'll be more organized within 24 hours. I don't know where to put anything.
The neighbors decided they didn't need the refrigerator so I'm hoping Jim will list it on KSL or Craig's list. It's a really nice fridge but we don't want one this big and we want to match the appliances. If any of you want it for your garage, etc., let us know. The new fridge won't be here for a few more days.
I'm too tired tonight to finish cleaning. We need to get a free-standing shelf for the little pantry so I can put bowls, pans, etc. on it. I wander around the kitchen trying to remember where I put things. In short, the kitchen is a disaster!!

The new fridge will go here, next to the microwave and to the side of the outside garage door.

The oven will go here but it won't take near as much room as Jim cut out. (That was a mistake.)

Here's Jim working on getting the second set of cupboards out. I helped him haul some of them outside, including our nasty old oven. I wanted to throw a few rocks at it just for the fun of it but I restrained myself.

The pictures are backwards but I'm too tired to fix them. I don't really care. You can get the picture.

Our home teacher (one of THE best in the entire church) is an electrician (about 80 years old now) and he came over and helped Jim with the electrical stuff when Jim took the oven out. And then Jerry and Chance Lane came over and helped us with the parts we couldn't do alone. We have great neighbors and friends that have helped.

Today Jim went to a pain specialist that he was referred to by Dr. Gaufin. Since Dr. Gaufin didn't feel surgery would really help even though Jim has two herniated discs in his back, he thought this pain doctor would help the most. So this morning Jim had two shots in his back. He didn't know if it helped - however, I don't think he would have been able to do the work he did today without those shots.

We're dead tired. We're headed to bed. Oh, I think Jim is already there.

I'll be impressed if Dad's even able to walk today after all that work! Way to demo!

This is pretty exciting, even if everything is in chaos right now. It'll all look really good when it's done!
