Our trip and Will's rash

We are in Rudiso New Mexico.  It's been good so far but we haven't had a chance to do much since we got here last night.  We went swimming last night and today went to church and then explored the woods surrounding our condo.  We also saw a bunch of deer from our deck this morning and the boys were excited to hear a wild turkey and find it's tracks on our "walk."  We also played a board game called Castle Panic--you try and protect the castle from trolls and such--perfect for little boys.  Tomorrow we go to some sand dunes and the office here at the condos lend out discs to use to slide down the mountain so that should be fun.  For Mike's enjoyment we are also visiting a pistachio farm.  We have some other fun activities planned for the rest of the week--hikes, going to the lake, a kid friendly place with mini-golf, bumper cars, etc.

Also, tomorrow we have to take Will into urgent care.  We noticed a really yucky rash before we came and upon investigating we assumed it was a bad flare up of Eczema.  Will suffered from it when we lived in Utah and living in the Midwest and Oklahoma he had no problems because of the humidity.  Now in Colorado it seems to be coming back.  Anyway, it seemed to get bad quickly.  His knees were red and then suddenly there was this horrible rash.  Moisturizing has not improved the rash and it is now blistery looking and really painful the touch. I now wonder if it is not eczema but rather shingles.  I remembered that he had a headache the week before the rash and that he complained of pain in his leg as well--both symptoms of shingles before the actual rash.  So, tomorrow we will take him to urgent care and hope to get some relief for him.  He has a very high pain tolerance so I know that he is not feeling well at all.  He is such a trooper though.  He said, "Well, if it's eczema and they can't get rid of it then it will be OK.  I'll just learn to get used to it."  I hope they can find him some relief.

The doctor said he didn't know what it was but thought it was shingles.
