Personal Training

I just got back from getting Brent and I signed up for a little personal training at the gym. I'm so out of shape these days, I make myself sick when I think about it. Jason and Michelle are the bomb. It's so inspiring to see how they've turned their family into a workout machine! I love it and completely admire what they do. Let's hope I'm still able to walk after a few sessions.

I decided that if I had to pay someone to be there, counting on me to show up and workout, I'd follow through. I have a really hard time motivating myself to go to the gym alone. I need a workout buddy. Brent and I can do our sessions at the same time with the same trainer. That way, we'll both have to get out of bed and exercise. In the past, if I didn't get out of bed and go to the gym like I planned, I didn't worry that Brent would ever think less of me. Of course he wouldn't. And that's why it isn't enough of a motivator to just have Brent encourage me to go. I know he loves me and doesn't think I'm fat and out of shape. I think that. So, I need someone else to kick my butt and make me mad.

Getting out of bed at 5am has never been a forte of mine, so this 5:30am training session may be interesting for a while. At least until my body adjusts to it. I enjoy going to aerobic classes, but often have a hard time with my feet. Jumping jacks don't last long, and too much high impact on my feet makes for a miserable day. Hopefully, personalized training will at least get me on the right track. Even if I only do this for a few sessions, I want to do it long enough that I'll reach the point of needing to exercise because my body craves it. So cross your fingers for me. Hopefully, I'll be able to reach my weight loss goals and get healthier. Also, if anyone has great, low calorie recipes (that actually have flavor!) please send them my way. Eating low cal usually does't taste very good. I need some spices in there to flavor it up!

I've slowly been adding recipes to the burnt toast blog. I have some more to go but you can try those out.

With me on Metformin now I have to cut out sugar. I also decided to stop drinking soda- even though I only drink it once a week if that. But I think it will help me feel better. You should try out Zumba. It kicks my butt. We can work out when I come out there!

Best of luck to you with your personal trainer. I hope they work you in a way that makes you want to come back, but challenges you as well. IF by any chance the personal trainer and you don't mix well and you end up not liking your workout or him, just get a new trainer. There are some trainers that shouldn't train.
I find that making a chart for fitness is best for me so I can check things off or write on the chart, this way I see my progress.
