Signs of Spring
BYU has been working on a pathway that goes around the south end of campus for the past year. It is one of my favorite places on campus and I was sad that I couldn't take that walk a single day last summer. I couldn't imagine what they were doing to the path but I found out two days ago. The pathway is now open but not completely finished yet. It is even more amazing! I was so delighted on my walk that I can't wait to take Ammon and Jim on the walk with me one fine spring evening after work. The path starts behind the Smith Fieldhouse and goes above and past the tennis courts. I goes all around the hill on the south end of campus and ends at the botony flowerbeds. It appears that the Botony Department has done much of the work because they have torn out old wood and old trees and are re-planting different kinds of trees. They have added little pogoda type structures with benches, places to rest long the path, waterfalls, etc. And the most stunning thing they added was this rock wall just below the Brimhall building. I can't wait to see the flowers and plants in full bloom in a few weeks.
I realized that even in a season where there is no beauty of snow and no green or color of spring or summer, there are still a lot of interesting, beautiful things to see if you look.
Had the leaves been on, I would never have seen a gigantic wasp nest up in this huge tree! (Below)
I have always loved willow trees, but I believe this is my favorite photo of one. I would never have noticed the curtain-like effect it creates when the leaves are out. It was a fantastic lunch-hour. I noticed signs of spring everywhere and it gladdened my heart.
These pictures were taken with my little camera. Jim stole the new camera to work on it and learn about it. We still need to upload the program on the computer that makes it easy to download pictures. One day, when I think I've taken a good enough one (or Jim has), those will come on. You just haven't seen any photos of mine for a few days so I added some. I know-- I bore you to death. That's ok - it doesn't bore me. :)

Wow, a lot has changed since I was there on that end of campus. I'm interested in seeing it some day. Heck, I'm interested in seeing campus again some day. -Jess
that willow tree does look cool!
I love when you put pictures on! -Jen
Well Jess, you should come and visit me someday and you can see it! I am there every day.
Makes me miss campus.
