One of the worlds most important events took place culminating four hundred years ago. Do you know what it was? That would make the year 1611. Does that help?

It was something that was worked on for several years. It was something that was prepared for by God for almost a hundred years before. The person who did this major preparation was even martyred for his insistence in doing what he did. David should know about this since he was martyred in Antwerp, Belgium, albeit in the 16th century.

So before I finish my post in a followup, can you guess, or do you know what happened four hundred years before this year?

KJV Bible--I knew it from the year.

It was the publication of the third English language bible (The KJV as Mike already stated). William Tyndale was the man who started it all.

Something cool about being here is that I live five minutes away from where the first english bible was ever printed. The Guttenburg Press is just up the street from me. Pretty cool huh?

That is extremely cool, Lindsey. The sense of history is one of the things I really love about Europe. When we were in London, Michelle and I were wandering down some street a few blocks from our hotel and there was this row house with a plaque that simply read "Birthplace of John Burgoyne". It was such a simple, nondescript plaque, almost common place as if to say no big deal. If the name is tickling your brain but you are having trouble placing it, General Burgoyne was a British Officer during the Revolutionary War. He was at the Battle of Bunker Hill but his success was ended at Saratoga where he surrendered to General Gates.

We really don't have a very strong sense of history here in the US.
