This was a nice conference weekend for me. I hope it was a good one for you as well. There were quite a few impressions that came to me as I listened to the talks. Kaitlin just mentioned the fact that many of the talks mentioned the temple and the importance of temple service. I noticed that as well. All of the talks were good, of course, but there was one that stood out above all others for me. Elder Holland's Easter talk on Sunday morning was one of the most powerful talks about the last week of the Savior's life and His mission I've ever heard. I cried through the whole talk and was greatly moved to make sure His mission wasn't wasted through my lack of commitment. It was an outstanding sermon that I'm not likely to forget. I believe this will become one of those "classic" talks known for years and years to come. I certainly hope it will be. I also loved President Monson's Sunday morning talk. The final story about the German woman was heart wrenching, but beautiful. I realized during that talk that I really have nothing to complain about in comparison to what so many others have suffered through their lifetimes.
I also realized that even if Ammon isn't able to have his trach tube taken out, at least he's alive and with us and I haven't had to bury any of my children along the way. I need to share my testimony for my love of the Lord more frequently and constantly remember my many blessings.
Today I felt more like Mary than Martha for the first time in a while. I feasted on the words shared and felt more committed than ever to be better. It was a relaxing weekend and I have loved the spiritual renewal.

It was indeed a great conference. Priesthood session was wonderful. I left with a sense of urgency and an increased desire to serve my quorum. I seem to get more and more out of conference the older and more experienced in life I get.
I agree! Conference was great! Holland's talk was a fabulous one and will be used over and over. I like spending my Sundays like this one!!
There were plenty of good talks. A couple of them on Saturday morning were useful in my YM calling. And Holland...oh Holland. Does he ever disappoint? I watched all but the last half of Saturday afternoon session. I love being able to watch the entire conference (sans Priesthood) on our home television. We'll miss that if we ever leave Utah.
We watched conference on our computer and it's hooked up to our tv so it was just like we were watching it on tv. I loved Elder Holland's talk. I always try and think before hand of questions and concerns I have and then listen for answers to them and I am never disappointed. I will say that unlike Jason and the rest of you, conference does not have the same meaning for me now that I have children. I think I only heard part of any of the session and conference for us is right during their lunch time so I always have to stop and make them lunch and they are loud and crazy and it is just hard to hear anything. I am very excited to get the Ensign because it will be like I didn't even hear the talks already (because I mostly didn't). I remember in college just drinking the talks up and now that we have kids, things are just very different.
I should have defined "watched" from my comment. Our girls were kinda all over the place during conference. We saw most the talks, but had plenty of opportunities to yell at the kids during talks. Nice dichotomy.
It is very difficult to get through much of conference with young kids.
I downloaded all the MP3s of conference last night. I'm going to put them on Jen's iPod (I don't have one) and listen to them. The text from the talks will be available online on Thursday.
Make sure that Elder Stevensons talk on Sunday afternoon gets listened to. I cannot wait to read it. It was about the need to make our homes like the temple. It was one of the finest talks on the subject ever given. As he left the podium, the First Presidency reached out and shook his hand. That does not often happen.
Tell me how to get the mp3 recordings the talks. I did not know that was available.

I liked Elder Stevenson's talk a lot too. That is definitely one that I am anxious to listen to again! -Jen
Dad, go to LDS.org and you'll see where the MP3s are linked. I heard that the text would be available on Thursday.
