I've written about it on my blog a few months ago, but I really like the NPR weekly broadcast called "This American Life." I listen to it every Monday morning when I come to work and love the story telling aspect of the show. For the last two weeks, the host of the show has been pleading for donations to help the broadcasting station (WEBZ in Chicago) offset the cost of providing the podcast for free. I gave in.
I gave them a $20 donation and then got an email thanking us for the donation. Jen saw the email and this was her response: "I wouldn't say this falls under the "freakish" category, but certainly the nerdy part..."
Now, my wife really does love me and finished her email off with this: "I'm just kidding. I'm totally glad you like the program so much!"
As Jen postulated, I'm either nerdy or simply getting old...

I don't know if Mike listens to that one but he listens to NPR almost every day on his way to work. He is a FOXNEWS fan.
This American Life isn't a news show at all, really. It's simply a collection of stories centered around a theme chosen by the show's producers.
I'm sure Dad and Mike get along well with their Fox News affinity.
