Merry Christmas! This past Sunday I had to give Sharing time. The theme was on the Restoration. We talked about how we get presents from Santa and everyone told me what they were asking for from Santa and then we talked about how The Savior gave us the greatest presents. We had seven presents wrapped all pretty and the kids got to open each gift to see some of the gifts that we have been given through the restoration: the scriptures (pearl of great price, D&C, Book of Mormon), personal revelation, prophets, priesthood, temples, baptism, and The Gift of the Holy Ghost. I challenged the kids to think of something they would give to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ (be kind to friends, help at home, etc.).
I just wanted to say that I am so thankful for all the gifts our Heavenly Father gives us. I am so thankful that Ammon is home with the family. I grateful that Hans is home. I'm thankful I was able to see you all this fall and that David and Tana got married in the temple. I have only been in the temple with my family one other time that I can think of and that was when I received my endowments. I remember the feeling I had when I saw most of my family. It is something I won't ever forget. I know that is what Heaven will be like. I am thankful for the relative health we all have. I'm thankful that I can call any of you and know that we share feelings of love and camaraderie. There are a lot of families that don't have those same feelings for one another. I'm so grateful we do. I'm also grateful that I can write something like this on our blog and know that you all feel the same, that you all have testimonies, and that you all love Heavenly Father.
We will miss our families tomorrow but we love you all and hope you have a wonderful Christmas.
(This post is serious but check out our blog for the other, not so serious and commercialized parts of Christmas that we celebrated. I don't know when I'll post that but you all know that I post relatively frequently, all for your enjoyment of course!)

Wow! What a day! It was a merry Christmas around here ... and a very white one, too. We woke up to blizzard-like conditions (they actually closed roads a few miles from us). We opened presents at our house and then around 11:20am we headed out toward Elk Ridge. We'd gone about 5 miles and I just about turned around because the roads up here in SLC were a disaster. We finally made it down to Elk Ridge in about 2 hours and really enjoyed bringing the dishwasher in to the house. Mom's reaction was great! Thanks for coordinating and thinking up of this gift, Chelsey!
We are home tonight to more snow in SLC (it may have been snowing all day...Mom and Dad got very little snow and it actually rained on them).
Happy Birthday to Dad tomorrow.
