Summer Fun

We went to the "Family Fun Day" as part of the Days of '47 festivities. It was held at the This is the Place Heritage Park at the mouth of Emigration Canyon. We had a great time and only got a little sunburned. This is the third year in a row Jen's gone to this thing and the first time it's been on a Saturday so I could come along.

Abby got her first pony ride and loved it.

We all rode on a train around the entire park.

Abby and Leah climbed through a miniature village.

Leah was excavating dinosaur bones in this chunk of earth. She found an entire T-Rex inside.

Sarah LOVES pony rides. It only took one ride to get her hooked. Now she's always asking about riding lessons and when she'll get to ride more ponies. Too bad lessons are RIDICULOUSLY expensive! She's enamoured by the fact that Grandma Clark was a cowgirl growing up!

Looks like you had a really fun day. Jen had to be pretty brave to go to this by herself with the kids but it looks like they had lots of fun.
Yes, Sarah, I was a real-live cowgirl. I helped herd cattle about 25 miles once a year. I rode in a rodeo and my favorite thing was to go with my dad and my brother, Stephen, up at Smith's Fork to ride on a horse all day long! I never got tired of it. I crossed rivers (scared me to death) and rode up tall mountains. What a rush!
But I didn't want to be a cowgirl when I got in high school for lots of reasons. I still love horses and hope you get to have one someday.
