It's getting hot out there!

Have you guys been watching what's happening in Northern California? They had a few thousand lightning strikes over the weekend and they are reported to have 842 fires currently burning. Many of those are 1-10 acres, but there are a lot over 500 acres (which is about when I start tracking them). Totally crazy. I think summer has officially begun.

Allen sent me a photo this morning showing what their sunrise looked like -- there is a fire about 10 miles to the northwest of them.
Their skies are pretty smokey!

I must be living under a rock. I had no idea northern CA was on fire, let alone that many!

My mom said that last week it was 113 in there town, which is almost unheard of. They had some crazy heat last week, which probably got everything nice and dry for when the lightening struck. Crazy!

I've been mapping a fire between Monterrey and SLO. Things are pretty dry in Cali. -Jester
