This is no big deal, but last week I went to the Republican Caucus and got elected to be a County Delegate. Already it is touchy since one of the members of the State House of Representatives has called and is trying to get my support. It is going to be interesting.
I am very agitated at Chris Cannon, of the Utah delegation to the US House. He has said and done some crazy things about immigration in recent times that has angered may people. I got elected by saying that I would work for his defeat, by another Republican, I might add.

Hey, I've got no problem with Chris Cannon sitting down. Or Orrin Hatch. Speaking of Senator Hatch, he was on my flight from SLC to Washington-Dulles last week. I felt like going up to him and saying, "Senator Hatch, how do you feel about Congressional term limits?"
The problem with term limits is that we would do ourselves a GREAT disservice to not take the seniority and send it back to Congress.
The ONLY way to do term limits would be to have it done across the board.
Well, right, but term limits would, by definition, have to be applied across the board. But even then, why should we care about seniority? What role should seniority really have in Congress? Does that mean that Orrin Hatch can get more federal $$ for us Utahn's because he's got seniority?
I don't want that. I don't want other states to have that. I think that leads to pork barrel spending. During his re-election campaign, the candidate will say "Look at me and my record; I brought in $$$ to this state." Those aren't always appropriate.
I guess I'm looking at the greater good instead of how is my state going to benefit because we've got a senator who has been in office for 30 years.
