Here's another

Does anyone have any idea what this might be? I don't know. I just found it a few months ago while tooling around Google Earth.

Well, before looking at any context in GE, I can say that this is somewhere in either NW Utah, NE Nevada, or SW Idaho based on the lat/long. I looks line a center pivot irrigation field.

However, the concentric circles don't typically stand out that much in center pivots that I recall.

I just looked it up in GE and they've updated the imagery. When I zoomed in, I could see the actual center pivot running nearly N-S. The imagery there now shows a more mature field.

Regardless, it looks an awful like someone growing something that doesn't belong (like most irrigated farmland in Utah).

My first thought when I downloaded this pic months and months ago was that it was a field with a center pivot system but it just seemed so out of context with the surrounding area that I was having a hard time accepting that. Also, as you mentioned, the tracks for the wheels don't usually stand out that well. I am going to have to go back and look at it again.

the distinct colors you see are from dry hay that has been cut I would imagine. this is probably an alfalfa field.
