I believe we contacted all of you, but a final update on Gillian. We went with her to see a second surgeon for a second opinion this morning. We were just going in for a consultation. It was a very different kind of exerpience than with the first surgeon. This one could tell from the results that something wasn't right with the gall bladder. After getting her history, he told her she needed to have the thing removed because all the symptoms were classic. He asked her what she had eaten today. She didn't feel well enough this morning (partly because she got her braces tightened yesterday) so she didn't eat anything. He then said, "Well, tomorrow I have to have surgery myself, so how about doing it today?" And the rest is history. He arranged it right there in the office and then sent us straight across the street to Same Day Surgery. We got home tonight about 6:30 p.m. Kaitlin had to man the door and the trick-or-treaters so Ammon didn't go out tonight. He didn't mind too much because he doesn't eat the candy anyway.
The doctor said that the duct (or opening of the gall bladder) had a lot of scarring and was way too tight and figured that was what was causing the pain. So it's out, she's home and she has been able to eat. She's on the mend but it wasn't one of her favorite Halloweens.

Glad she made it out alright! How apropos that this all happened on Halloween. She had an organ removed that's heavily influenced by junk food...on the night where all we do is gather junk food!

Glad you're finally on the mend Gilly!
It was such a surprise to me to hear she had surgery because I had just talked to her the day before and she was telling me she still had to find another doctor. I hope she feels better.
I hope you recover quickly. Now you are going to really have to be careful about the amount of fats you eat.
