For all you tomato haters out there

The other day Henry and I were eating a bowl of cut up tomatoes together and when we got to the end of the tomatoes, he picked the bowl up and drank all of the juice at the bottom - seeds and all.
I just wanted to share that since so many of you Clarks don't like tomatoes and I thought you'd appreciate the story. Although Adam didn't like the story very much...

And all this time I thought Henry was normal. I think I am going to be sick!

I love tomatoes! So does Isaac. I don't think I would eat them that way though. Way to go Henry.

Tomatoes are great in all kinds of ways. I absolutely love them and I consider myself normal.

Here are some of the many ways I've enjoyed them.

1. Fresh off the vine, wiped off on clothing

2. Sliced into slices with sugar on them.

3. Cherry or Grape tomatoes in a salad of greens with Vidala Onion dressing on them.

4. Sliced tomatoes with salt and Pepper on them.

5. Cold sliced tomatoes on a hot sausage pizza, yum.

6. Fresh tomatoes on a BLT sandwich.

7. Fried Green tomatoes

8. Chopped up large pieces of tomatoes in salsa.

9. Tomatoes in Wraps of all kinds

10. Chopped up Roma tomatoes in Cottage cheese.

I could go on and on, but I will spare you all. I just love the things and I don't understand why others don't like them. I'm think you must not have had a great farm tomato in your life if you don't like them.

Well, I don't like kissing boys and I don't understand why others enjoy it...

I say "Way to go Henry." I wish I liked those things in the form we're talking about, but I will only eat tomatoes in the processed form: ketchup, salsa, red sauce, etc. I'll never add a fresh tomato to a sandwich or burger or salad. Gag!

Tell Henry that Grandpa has five tomato plants and has been eating several tomatoes each day. I drink the juice, too, especially with a little salt mixed in. I have Romas and Celebrities. They are great. Each to his own, but I for (not one), I, as many, love a good tomato.

I guess when I kissed my boys I should have had tomato juice on my lips.

Lets see, are tomatoes good for you? Of course, so are brussel sprouts, but I do not plant them. And few people do. Ha!

Michelle's stated goal in our marriage is to get me to eat a fresh tomato. I have tried numerous times but they just make me sick. I love salsa (tomato chunks have to be almost invisible)- the hotter the better - and I love all kinds of tomato products but fresh tomatoes are sickening.

Amen brother! Glad to hear we're on the same page. Processed = good; fresh = ugh. Sad, huh?

Someday Jason you will get a Carmel Tomato instead of a Carmel apple so be on the lookout!!!

Love 'em!! Nothing better in all the world than a BLT!
Way to go Henry. I can't figure out why so many of my kids hate them. We always offered them in every variety. I don't like stewed tomatoes, though. I hate the texture. They have to cook way down before I really like them that way.

BLTs are one of my most favorite foods - they just have such a fantastic taste combination.
You guys are all very funny. THanks for the entertainment!
And Michelle - I've never had fried green tomatoes. Have you really had them?

Yes I've really had them, they are incredibly awesome. You need to make sure the tomatoes are really green and not red in any way. Then you just make up a cracker breading like you would for fried zuchinni or fried eggplant and you dip them in that, fry them and then when they cool off, dip them in ranch dressing and enjoy!!!!
