While we are on the topic...

of our bodies, I thought I would update you all in my quest to lose weight and get in shape. In January I weighed in at a scary 278 and in April found out I had bad cholesterol (overall number was good, just the "bad" stuff was high. I was feeling miserable, looking miserable, and tired all the time. So I decided to take control and committed to Amy to be at 220 lbs by her birthday (Oct. 21). Well, my goal for this week was to hit 245 and when I weighed in tonight I was a perfect, 245 (that is 3 pound lost this week).! So, 33 lbs down, 25 to go. Once I hit 220, I will work hard to get to 205. That is my personal goal to be at and maintain by my birthday in 2008. I have a ways to go and maintaining it in the winter is always hard, but I will do it. I am determined to get healthy and stay healthy. My weight the Summer I got married was about 210 and I had a resting heart beat of 49 with great blood pressure. I definitely want to get back to that kind of shape. It't been nice to have Jason and Michelle as great examples! Thanks guys!

Way to go, bud! You are definitely looking more fit. By the time you get your house done, I would guess you will lose quite a few more pounds, if only by the sweat of your brow.

Good job, Adam. Anybody that has the will to lose weight and keep it off is impressive. I know how hard it is. It is something I struggle with every day. My goal is to get down to 190 by next June. I am right there with you, Adam. Keep it up!

You quest is a good one! I know something about that quest, but do not apply my knowleged well. It helps to do it when you are still able to get moving well enough to make exercise effective. It is neat to see you lose, and it goes almost without saying that what Jason and Michelle have done and are doing is wonderful. Thanks for telling us all about this effort. Good luck as you keep trying.

I got married at 205 slowly gained until I was 220. I've been 220 for about three years now. I do wish I was about 210. That's probably my ideal weight.
