Happy 4th of July

I did my first tile today! I've helped lay a tile backsplash, but this was my first tile on the floor experience. We decided to replace the tile at the entrance to our family room downstairs with some new, updated and nicer stuff. I only did 12 sq. feet (12 tiles), and the actual job only took me half an hour. I spent quite a bit of time removing the old stuff, but the new stuff was cake!

We're getting new carpet down there mid-day tomorrow, so I had to get the tile done before that guy came. That room is coming together. After the carpet is installed, we can move back into that room and breathe a little easier. We've been pretty cramped in the rest of our house with rearranged furniture and the such. Fun times.

How'd the carpet go? Are you back in your family room?

Yes, the carpet is in and Jen likes it. That's all that matters. 'Nuff said.

We moved furniture back in last night and are very happy to have the room back. Still three things to do: install base molding on one wall, install three electrical outlets, and build the book shelves.
