Gillian returned home safe and sound about 12:30 a.m. this morning. They spent 30 hours on the bus coming home and most of the kids were sick. One girl had to get a blessing from the choir director, Mr. Lunt. Another girl threw up two different times on the way home. The kids were worn out but very satisfied with the job they did. Here are the results:
Ambassadors (mixed show choir) - 2nd place overall out of 17 show choirs. They received 1st place for best set design, best rhythm (band), and best choreography.
Chamber Choir (28 kids) - 3rd place overall (out of 10 choirs) and best female sound (best sounding females!)
Premier Show Choir (all-girls show choir) - 4th place overall -- they are the first all-girls show choir to place higher than other mixed show choirs.
A Cappella did not place.
Spanish Fork was well represented. It is a town full of talented kids. About 300 students made the 30 hour (one way) bus trip and performed well.
Gillian said they were so excited to place so high, especially after they heard the other two choirs in the finals - one from Iowa and one from Indiana. She couldn't remember which one won but said they were fantastic. She looked tired but relieved that the hard work for the year is done. They have one more show (Spring Sing) and still have to compete with Chamber Choir in the State finals. I am guessing there were quite a few students that were absent from school today!
Congratulations once again to all the kids - especially Gillian who had to fight off migraines for the entire year and had a tough battle to keep up with the pace. We're proud of her!
And thanks to Jason & Michelle, Mike, Adrianne, Will and Isaac who made the trek clear to Branson to meet and support! You guys are awesome!

I was very impressed with the quality of music I heard. Gillian's voice is golden and they should have gotten 1st.
It was good to see Gillian and Adrianne and Mike. Will and Isaac are two of the cutest little boys I have ever seen.
Thanks Jason! We think they are cute too.
