A BUDDING BALLERINA

Kaitlin performed in her year's end ballet recital on Saturday night. She had a solo in the ballet, "Cinderella." She was "Autumn" - She performed wonderfully and it was a delight to see her confidence, grace and beauty up on stage. Many of my daughters have wanted to be ballerinas but due to the cost, I have resisted. Kaitlin wouldn't be talked out of it and she has earned her own money to buy each pair of point shoes. She battles torn toenails, split skin on her toes, shin splints and various other aches and pains as she charts a determined course. I wish all of you could have seen her dance. She gave a mini-performance at Jess's place but the room was small and it was only a preview.
We had Abby and Sarah come and spend the weekend so they could go watch the ballet with us. It was so much fun to have them with us. We missed having Alyssa. I think, since she has taken dance lessons, she might have enjoyed it the most.
Kudos to Kaitlin! If she ever felt she was in Gillian's shadow, we want her to know that she has truly emerged into the spotlight and has found her own place.

I know Abby enjoyed her time in Elk Ridge watching Kaitlin dance, as well as lots of play time with Sarah and Grandma and Grandpa. It was nice for us to focus a little more attention on Leah in Abby's absence.

Sorry we couldn't be there Katy. I'd love to see you dance sometime. Maybe when we come to Utah you can do a show for us.
