I'm going to itch my eyes out!!!

I am dying. I can't get rid of these allergies. You can litterally see the cotton just floating in the air today. I can pick up handfuls of it in the streets. These allergies have been going on for over a month now and it just seems to get worse. My eyes are so bloodshot and swollen I look like something out of a horror movie. Not to mention my soar throat and stuffy/runny (depending on the moment) nose! What's it like in the states where everyone else is? I can't ever remember my allergies being this bad in the states. Mom, aren't you dying yet? What can a pregnant woman take for all this crap??? I'm desperate! Has anyone ever heard of rape-seed? Well, they have these beautiful feilds of yellow flowers everywhere here. I would love to enjoy them, but I think that's the culpret along with all the other normal stuff like pollen.

Okay, I'm sorry to go on like this. I just wanted to wallow in my own self pitty for a minute. I'm sure I've mispelled a million things too. Have a better day than I'm having everyone!

A very irritated Lindsey.

I know you can take Zertec when pregnant but of coarse that was 4 years ago so I would definately ask your OB as soon as possible for an allergy medicine that is okay for you. Maybe even Claritin is safe now.

I take Allegra and love it, but not sure if you can have it.

Also I would definately recommend a nose spray, try over the counter sprays recommended by your OB and then maybe get Rhino cort if that is allowed. I take that along with Patenol allergy drops for the eyes, those are the best and so soothing. For the first time in my life 5 years ago when taking all three of these medicines
Allegra by pill form
Rhinocort by nose spray
Patenol by eye drops

I was completely symtom free and it was awesome. I have severe rag week allergies in the fall so I know what you are going through since most of my pregnancies were in that same season.

Take care and I hope you feel better soon.

by the way Lindsey, it doesn't matter if you spelled all of it wrong, I usually do to, just keep writing, it's great to hear from you!

Yeah, spelling is no big deal but poor grammer will get you the death penalty. I certainly don't mind misspelled words as long as it is obvious that the writer actually tried to spell the word correctly. What really drives me crazy is the conversational/IM/email style of writing. Contrary to the now commonly accepted norm, capitalization, correct sentance structure, and subject-verb agreement do matter. That doesn't mean that we all need to be perfect but I believe that we at least need to give it our best shot. The usage of emoticons is a classic example. Since we no longer seem to be able to express ourselves in writing in an educated manner, we have taken to using visual aids to fill in our inadequacies and/or laziness. That is my rant for today. It was not aimed at anybody but rather just an observation on our internet society. Of course, now some smarty pants (like Jess) is going to pull out his copy of the Gregg reference manual and find all of the grammatical flaws in this post (of which I am sure there are several)and with great glee, point them out to me.

By the way, you all just missed an incredible Midwestern storm - tornado sirens and all.

Yes I do know what the rape plant is. I feed rape seed to my pigeons. It is a great product. You probably use it most days (or should instead of most vegatble oils) as canola oil. That is the oil from rape seed. It is a very small dark brown seed. I do not know if it is the source of your allergies, but I doubt it. Even I have allergy problems right now. My eyes are alright, but my nose runs all of the time now. This has been the case for about three weeks.

Make sure you check with the Dr. before taking medications, but the recommendations that Michelle gave are good ones, I think. Your Dr. should be able to give you some samples to try before spending lots of money.

Thanks guys for the suggestions. I called the Dr. first thing this morning because I didn't sleep at all last night. The Dr. said Zertec would be fine to take. She perscribed me that and some nasal spray. I am getting those filled this afternoon.

Dad, the good thing about the army is that they pay for everything, including perscriptions.

Jason, I agree with you about the poor grammer. I'm not that great at it, but I have a hard time reading emails from friends that talk the IM talk. Thanks Michelle for the advice on the allergy stuff. I'm excited to feel better! Have a great day everyone.

I'm trying to figure out what I've said or done to Jason to make him think I would take his text, edit it, and point out all the incorrect grammar.

I'm glad he thinks I'm a "smarty-pants" but I'm not sure why he thinks I'm a "smarty-pants." Help?
