Golf in December

We are having a crazy winter so far. Last year at this point we'd already had >20 inches of snow in the Salt Lake Valley. So far this year: 5 inches. The month of December was dominated by 3 weeks of a serious inversion. We are having an unseasonably warm day today with temperatures nearing 55 degrees -- on Dec. 30!

Adam and I are going to take advantage of this great weather by hitting a round of golf. I bought a Groupon back in August with the intention of taking Adam golfing for his birthday. Neither his schedule nor mine seemed to jive until fall was in full swing and we never got a chance to redeem the round of golf at Fox Hollow (formerly Tri-Cities in American Fork).

Today is the day! We're heading out this afternoon. We will be battling some wind but beggars can't be choosers, right??

Due to winter rules / rates, they were not taking reservations today. We got there and ended up waiting 45 minutes before we could get on. They were short on carts and didn't have them fully charged, so we found carts scattered throughout the course with little to no juice left in the batteries.

We ended only hitting 12 holes due to time and sunlight. The weather was perfect down there (better than it was in SLC) and we had a great time. This was my first time on Fox Hollow but I imagine I'd enjoy it when it was green, too! -Jess

The golf courses around here are all open since the weather has been amazing. Yesterday we hit 50 degrees again. If I golfed, I'd be happy this year with the extended season. It's funny seeing all these golfers on the course in December and now Janaury.
