Gratitude

When the snow comes and buries our mailbox and the road and our car, and I sit huddled in front of our drafty living room window looking out in dismay, I will pull up this blog post and remember that I live in one of the most beautiful spots in the world. I started taking photos of the fall colors very early because I thought we were going to hit the peak. Conference weekend when we went up Payson Canyon I thought, surely, there would be no more color. Snow came and things seemed to dull a bit. And then, the explosion really came and it takes my breath away. I have never seen my "backyard" so incredibly vibrant and beautiful. As I walked up on the bench at the top of Elk Ridge yesterday, I gasped when I saw all the little draws full of color. Loafer Canyon is exquisite. I felt a great sense of gratitude to God for giving me such a gift to be able to view His handiwork.

Oh so tempting! We did actually consider coming down today since my Sunday schedule seemed a bit light, but then I got Abby's flu-like bug and am sitting around being a putz. -Jess

Beautiful! It is not that pretty here but I still enjoy the colors I see outside my window.

Awesome pics! Our falls don't get nearly as colorful, mostly because almost everything just stays green. I miss the colors!
