I'm starting to venture into PhotoShop. I took a few photos at the funeral inside the church and hated the color. I adjusted it, but I still wanted to keep the photos. So tonight I have been messing with Photoshop just to see if I could make the photos salvagable. I am not adding the colored ones that I just lightened or changed. One day maybe I'll learn to use this program. Anyway, here's a cute one of Lindsey.
I have a few photos of Grandma Minerva Teichert's old wringer washer. I couldn't get down on my knees to get a better view. I wasn't satisfied at all with the picture but didn't want to ever forget this old washer. I used to help her feed the clothes through the wringer and I believe that was the ONLY chore I liked to help her do. I will work on some more and see if I can change some hues to add more interest. The black and white just seemed better than the color I had.

Wow! I never want to see pictures of me this far along in a pregnancy ever again! I should never be the subject of anyone's photos. So sad mother!!!

I do remember how wringer washer and put rubber diapers through that wringer diapers and explodes and I ruined a couple of shirts

To Anne -- I only helped my grandmother a few times and we never had problems with it when I helped. I'm sure she had her issues with it. I loved to watch the water squeeze out as the clothes ran through. Weird, I know, but it's a good memory.
LDS churches are notorious for bad lightning -- all that flourescent stuff does a number on pictures. You can change your white balance setting on your camera to reflect that you're shooting in flourescent lights, but one solution is to shoot in raw in this setting and then edit your white balance in Photoshop / Lightroom afterward.
I don't own Photoshop or Lightroom and use Picasa for most my photo edits (and Picasa doesn't treat raw like Photoshop does). In Picasa, I go to the tuning option and change the "neutral color" thingy. I use the eyedropper and click on something in the photo I know to be white in real life. That adjusts the white balance (fairly well) for the entire photo.

I wish you had Photoshop because I think someday you would become world famous for your photography. In fact, I ought to pay you to give me a few classes at my house.
I posted these pictures because I hope someday I'll come back to these and say, "Oh my gosh- how embarrassing! Why did I ever post these?" That would be because I would have taken a class and learned how to use the silly program.
