Samuel Ashby Clark

Samuel Ashby Clark was born about 7:00 a.m. May 30, 2011. It was, indeed, a "Memorable Day." He weighs 8 lb 5.9 oz and is 19 1/2" long. He is perfect in every way. Here is the happy mom and day after the delivery.

Amy had invited the two granmothers and Gillian to come to the birth if we wanted to come. Amy's water broke about 2:15 a.m. She woke us at 2:30 and said they were heading off to the hospital. We followed shortly after and stayed with her until the baby was born. Adam called Gillian around 6:00 a.m. and said, "If you want to see the birth you had better head over." She seemed to be amazed and excited with the miraculous process. The doctor explained quite a bit to her and she was a great support. We were glad she was there.

Gillian and Grandma Carol.

He has ten fingers (on very large hands) and ten perfect toes. It looks like he will have blonde or redish hair like Ella and Henry had when they were born. He has more similarities to Ella than Henry today. He will most likely look completely different tomorrow.

Amy was a trooper and did a great job.

Congratulations guys! That's so exciting. He looks like a really big boy too. His hands look huge in this last picture. He's a beautiful little boy. I hope Amy and Samuel feel well are that Amy recovers quickly. I wish I could have been to the birth too. Pretty cool that Gillian was able to experience that.
