Thanksgiving 2010

Lest any of you feel sorry for us because we were small in number this year, please don't. This has been a lovely day full of good food, little stress and an easiness I haven't had in a long, long time. I simplified the meal, doing away with all the vegetable/cheese trays and only made one salad. I did cave in to Jim's request to make homemade rolls. I took this photo just for Geoffrey. He wasn't here so I didn't make crescent rolls - these are homemade, but not in the crescent shape. I'm thankful for the Hamilton Beach roaster we purchased a year ago. I cooked the turkey breast (so good I'll never go back to a full turkey again) in the roaster and then I cleaned the roaster out and added water to the bottom so it would steam and keep this food warm throughout the meal. So easy and nice!!

I'm thankful that all of you were able to spend Thanksgiving with friends and loved ones in other parts of the world. I believe that of all the blessings I've received in my life, the most significant blessing has been to be a mother to the spirits that came to our home. You have made my life complete and full and for that I thank you.
