So that's my messy story. This hasn't been a kind month. (But I get out of doing the dishes.... he, he.)

A Tough Month
I don't like October. It has been a tough month for me. Last night while fixing dinner, I accidentally cut my finger on the lid of a can. It wasn't too deep but it bled like a stuck pig. I used all my nursing skills and made a nice large bandage of gauze and put pressure on it. Three hours later and 4 massive blood soaked dressings convinced me that this thing wasn't going to stop bleeding. So I went to the ER to see if they would put super glue on it like the chefs do at work. They wouldn't do that. I had cut through a blood vessel and that's why it wouldn't stop bleeding. I had to have 4 stitches just so it would heal properly. I also had to have a tetnus shot. The numbing hurt!! I kept breathing deeply saying, "I've had a baby so I can do this." Man did it hurt. Two hours at the ER and we were on our way home.
This morning at work I started breaking out in hives. Most of you know that I get hives often. However, this was unlike anything I've ever had. My elbow was covered with large white hives that looked like blisters. Then my entire arm was covered. Pretty soon, I had them everywhere.
My legs and back were covered with a different kind. People at work kicked me out and told me to get to a doctor. I did. The only reason I took these pictures was to prove to the doctor that I really had them in case they settled down by the time I saw the doctor. They didn't settle down.
We're not sure, but we suspect that I have had some kind of reaction to something they injected in me last night. He prescribed Prednisone (a steroid) and Zyretec. They told me if my throat begins to feel tight I had to go to the hospital immediately. I'm not worried about that.

Yikes Momma! That's a pretty hardcore wrap and rash. Not a nice combo of problems to have. Hope you heal well.
Dang mom! That's just crazy. You haven't had a very good month at all. Sorry to hear about all that. Hope you get better soon.
Love you.
Lindsey
MOM! This is terrible... sorry to hear all of this. Maybe this opposition in October is to show you how awesome December is gonna be!!!
Michelle also has a very bad reaction to prednisone. The doctor claims that you can't be "allergic" to a steriod but he is obviously clueless.
I hope you get feeling better soon. I soon as I read that you cut your finger on a lid, I remembered Adam grabbing a lid edge on when he was very young and slicing his palm open. Do you remember that? We were at Grandma Clark's house in Benjamin.
Holy mackrel, those are some serious medical emergencies. I really hope you don't have any more adverse reactions and that you feel better soon.
Jason - I do remember Adam grabbing that lid! He still has that scar on his hand.
We don't know what they used on me at the hospital - I will call and find out. It was the numbing stuff, I think, that caused the problem. I started the Prednisone last night and that has helped.
Holy cow! When it rains it certainly pours! Your coworkers probably think you're contagious...wouldn't that be fun?? They're never gonna let you come back!
Hope your day is better today. Now don't do something silly like trip and fall.
Sorry mommy, I love you and get better. I think I know why I have so many health problems and freak accidents... IT ALL CAME FROM YOU!!! darn you hahaha
Sorry to hear about all your medical things going on. Ouch.
I hope you heal quickly and with little pain and I'm glad the steroid is helping, I can't take them.
Man, you guys have sure had to deal with a lot this month. I'm so sorry. I hope you all get an awesome month this coming month. Sorry Mommy.
But just think of all the "communicating" you can do while the bandage is on... :~)
