Final quiz of the week

Duluth, it was. I've been to Duluth twice: once on my way to Grand Marais / Gunflint Trail / Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in August, 2007. I was actually there during Adam's birthday. I went back 6 months later in February to give a presentation to the Superior National Forest about the severity of all their fires. Most people don't want to visit Duluth in February and it was friggin' cold. I drove down to the waterfront and walked on Lake Superior as part of it was frozen. "Chipewa" refers to Dan Fogelburg's song called the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. That boat left Duluth on its way to Whitefish Bay down by Sault Ste. Marie and sunk on the way.

Today's test is another American city. Enjoy. I've been here, too, a few times. I can't remember when it was acquired but it looks like mid-summer. Adam's on the road today and Lindsey's 8 hours ahead of us, so you others have a legitimate chance to win if you act now!

Knoxville, TN? No idea really. Just a guess. Some mountains, lakes and an average sized city.

I can't tell if the lack of comments mean people haven't seen it, don't care, or it's really hard. I'm assuming it's hard. A few more clues:

It's in the Western U.S. Mom and Dad should know it.

Another hint: Aunt Elizabeth knows this city... Great golf courses in the city on the right...

Um... Spokane

Well, that could be Couer d'Lane with it's beautiful lake - not far from Spokane.
I know it's not Lake George because it's north and the lake is the wrong shape.

Spokane on the left; Couer d'Lane on the right. They are becoming one city. Good guess Lance and Mom. -Jess
