Odds & Ends

This was the scene that greeted me yesterday morning on my way to work.
This is what I saw this morning on my way to work.

I have been busy bottling fruit. For the first time since I was a young girl, I actually have bottled raspberries - the food of the gods. We bought one lug of raspberries and have picked almost as many from our own raspberry patch as we bought. I would rather eat bottled raspberries than any other food in the world. I also bottled peaches we picked from our trees. The deer got almost one complete tree before we picked them, still not quite ripe. We let them ripen in the kitchen and will never let the deer get to them again. We will pick them before they are ripe. We would have had twice as many as we got, but they are great peaches and I can't wait to open a jar.

I made two fresh peach pies last night and have this many left. They aren't very big peaches but they have a fabulous flavor!

I picked these raspberries tonight after I got home from work. The bowl is completely full. I will have enough to bottle one more batch on Saturday. I love fresh fruit!!!

Yummo. Maybe I should fly back to SL with Brent next week. Those raspberries look too good.

Uhhhhh -- yeah! I'll let you eat all the raspberries you want if you come.

Those raspberries look delicious. They would be gone in seconds in my house.

Raspberries make me weak in the knees. They are my favorite fruit and I could eat them until I exploded.

Come out here and I'll give you some. :)

Is that the whole reason you planted a million raspberry bushes? Just to get us all out there again?

I'll do anything it takes.... :)

Hey boys, this is my wife you are seeing in action. I grew the food, but she did the good stuff. My wife is the best. I know you guys all did well, but Chris is one of a kind great. I will think of you all when I enjoy the fruit all winter. Ha!

Tough life kids, but she is just the best.

PS. I took the pictures out of the window with her camera. She noticed the view as she was driving, and handed me the camera. It was her eye, though.
