What a great concert last night! Caleb had a solo that rocked the house - at least the girls really liked it. He has a wonderful voice and did a great job. We had a lot of fun last night. Wish you all could have been there. I am sure Michelle will post some pictures.
We also attended Alyssa's first band concert last night. She practiced until she could play each song perfectly. I was very proud of her.

What instrument is Alyssa playing?
Oh man, I wish I could have been to that concert last night!! Did you tape his solo? Does the school make videos or DVDs of the concerts? If so, we'd love to get one.
Rock on, Caleb! Good for you, Alyssa. Music is the best!!
Alyssa plays flute. We don't have a regular video camera so we didn't get to tape it, but I think the school tapes the performance. I'll look into it.
Oh wow - Chelsey played the flute, too. Once they get past that really breathy stage and feel more confident, it becomes so much fun to listen to. I'd love to hear her play. Is this her first year?
In fact, I'm supposed to play the flute this Sunday with our choir during our sacrament program. I'm a nervous wreck about it too. I'd rather sing in front of people anyday, than have to play the flute. Wish me luck!
Are you playing Gesu Bambino?
Yeah! I'm glad you are playing the flute! You are terrific with that thing but I know it makes you nervous. You shouldn't be - I wish Alyssa could hear you because she would be very impressed.
Good luck.
No Gesu Bambino. It's a new arrangement of God So Loved The World. There's a lot of triplets mixed with straight quarter notes -- all done in cut time. I've got to pay attention with this one, or I'll seriously screw it up. Why did I say I'd do this?
Because you were blessed with a wonderful talent to bring joy to others, that's why!
I too, did not know that Alyssa played flute. I sure remember the time when Chelsey started. We eventually bought her a wonderful flute, one that will last her a lifetime. I am glad that people knows she plays and sings. She is good at both. Alyssa is on her way. She should call and talk to Chelsey.
As for the big CC, or Kay, as I know him, it is so fun to hear about a gradchild (grandyoungman) singing. I did that so much in high school and on my mission. Then I had the great fortune to marry Chris. We sang togeather so much. We gave lots of Christmas programs that none of you kids would know about since you were either too young or not born. We never did it much after we left Utah.
Kay must be good! Even Segal is praising him a lot. I wish I could hear him. Maybe he could make a recording and send it to us. This should be before he makes his first CD hit!
