Hey mom wanted me to leave a post to tell you about what is going on here ar home. Ammon is in surgury. He wasnt' feeling well yesterday and he didn't last more than 30 minutes at school. Dad took him to the hospital and they found out it was his shunt. They are having to revive it. Please pray for him.

I meant replace it not revive it... gosh... mom told me revive so I just put that on.
I said "revise."
Oops - that was me but I didn't realize I was in Kaitlin's site.
I am trying to find Jim at the hospital to see what happened.
Dr. Smith, the ENT, was going to do an endoscopy before the surgery to take a look at the trachea because Ammon was having some difficulty talking and breathing this morning - which is a symptom also of a malfunctioning shunt.
Then Dr. Smith will do the intubation for the neurosurgeon when they replace the shunt.
It's been 9 years since his shunt has had to be revised so we shouldn't complain - it's just bad timing for a little body that is pretty beat up.
I was able to talk to Ammon about 4:45 p.m. this afternoon before the surgery and his biggest wish and concern was that the "boys" would come and help Dad give him a blessing, meaning his brothers. I told him that I didn't think there was enough time to get any of you up there so I asked Jim to get someone (even Dr. Smith) to assist him in the blessing because that was the one thing Ammon wanted. I asked him if he was ok with another surgery and he said, "Yeah - my head hurts to bad not to." Like I said a couple of weeks ago, saying no more surgeries is easier said than done.
I should be up there but I think I will wait until first thing in the morning and then switch Jim places so he can come home to take care of chores here and get some rest.
Jim is a champion here. He has been so steadfast and so incredibly good as an advocate for Ammon. I'm so thankful for both of these guys!
My Heart Aches....
Thanks for the updates Mom and Kaitlin. Please let us know what we can do to help. -Jess
