Walking with my feet 10 feet off of Beale

For the longest time, our girls have wanted to walk over the sky bridges spanning Bangerter Highway. Whenever we drive under one, they say, "Can we stop and walk on that??" It's never at a convenient time, so the answer is always "No." We've been going through this for -- oh, I don't know -- 4 years.

Today was the day. With Salt Lake City experiencing cold summer temperatures (today it was 76 degrees, tomorrow may peak out at 70), Jen decided to let the kids realize their dreams.

My girls can now say they've walked over Bangerter Highway at 9800 S. in South Jordan. Fun times!

Who needs theme parks when you have sky bridges?! That is so cute they wanted to do that so bad. Looks like they had a great time. Awesome weather always makes for a good time too.

Do you remember when we walked over a bridge over I-80 in Citrus Heights on our way back and forth for swimming lessons the first summer we lived there?
The bottom photo reminded me of that because all of you would line up and wave at the cars on the freeway. Some cars would honk, some wouldn't. It was a long walk, but it seemed to brighten up the journey.
Little things like this always please the kids - sometimes more than the big events.

Yes, I remember. Wasn't it Antelope Road? I actually thought of those walks as I was making the post.
