A Summer's Walk

I haven't posted many photos lately - I've been too busy. But the other day it was such a lovely, cool day that I walked and walked. I went back to my favorite flower garden on the south slope of campus and took some photos. However, the sunflowers are growing in two different yards just north of my building. They are probably a good four feet taller than I am. The huge blossoms, blue sky and bright sun made for a very pretty sight.

Bottoms up! Lunch time for two ducks.

This flower is gorgeous - it's huge. Anybody know what it is? I don't.

I am jealous of your beautiful weather. We are under both a flash flood warning and a flood watch. Cedar Rapids has had nearly six inches of rain in the past 24 hours and one town just to the north of Cedar Rapids has had 13 inches in the same time period. Your sunflower picture is very nice. Your last picture is a Hibiscus, one of my favorite summer flowers.

Yep, Jason is right. It's a hibiscus. You should see the red and purple ones! They are really cool and huge!
