Not so sweet 16

Well, I am not sure if it's a sweet 16 or not but Caleb's 16 none the less. He's been reminding us nearly daily that on August 14th he can legally sell (at the grocery store) alcohol and tobacco products in the state of Iowa. Both he and Michelle worked at the store last night and she got on the intercom and asked everybody to stop by and wish Caleb a happy birthday. She is still giggling about it. She said that customers were coming up to her asking her where Caleb was so that they could wish him a happy birthday. When I picked him up at 8pm for drumline practice, Michelle was a little worried that she had made him mad but he wasn't. He was actually pretty happy. After drumline practice, I took him to an empty commuter lot at the University and gave him his first driving lesson. He did a pretty good job but I am glad that there were no other cars in the lot. He needs a lot of work on parking. We drove for about 30 minutes. He was thrilled. He has his first date today with Bailey (she's a nice girl) and will be having a party tonight.
