First School Day is a Wipe-out

We are totally frustrated and a bit angry because the nursing company we've been working with since January suddenly finds that they don't have anyone to accompany Ammon to school. Dad went with Ammon on his orientation day on Tuesday and spent the entire day with him. They had another nurse hired that has been working with Ammon for about 10 days but we found out about 4:50 p.m. yesterday that he can't work with Ammon any longer so Ammon won't be able to go to school until after his trach is removed next week. That's really not a good way to start junior high. This company has known from day one that we have to have a nurse accompany Ammon or the school district won't let him attend. Another frustration is that the school still has not hired a tech to work with Ammon when he does go to school. Arghhhh!!!!!

I feel badly for Ammon because I know he wants to go to school. We called the teacher this morning to explain the situation and asked her if we could get some school work to do while he's at home. I hope it turns out better than it has started.

Good luck to all you kids that are starting school today (or yesterday). I hope your school year is lots of fun and is fulfilling for you.

Are kidding? What a mess! I'd be stinkin mad too. Poor Ammon. Does he have any nurse at all right now? You'd think with such a job shortage right now, hiring wouldn't be that hard! URG.

Hang in there Ammon! Did you like your first day though? Probably nice to have Dad there to help you through the halls and stuff huh!

And Dad, were you scared out of your mind after attending jr high again? Crazy age kids!

What a bummer for Ammon. I thought that woman we saw when we were out there was going to be going to school with him.
