Oh, and one more thing
Our babysitter is 12. She's like 6 feet. Mike forgot and thought she was being rude when she spoke so softly and wasn't very responsive. I reminded him she was 12. It made a lot more sense. He thought she was 16.
She is younger than Ammon!!!
Mike said, "We just left a 12 year old with three little boys?"
Yes, yes we did. He finally understood why I was a little worried. But all is well. The boys were in bed and fed and she did our dishes.
And she was watching I Carley. Is that right? I Carley. I had to remember she was 12 and that is the kind of show they watch. Weird.

12 year olds are a lot better babysitters than 16 year olds.... or even 14 year olds for that matter. So says mom who has had lots of experience with babysitters.
Don't let Jason babysit, he lets children go into busy intersections with just a diaper on. And play in Ovaltine in the kitchen until everything in the kitchen turns brown.
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha
Mom doesn't remember what it is like to have a babysitter. I started watching you guys when I was 10. I even took care of you all when Mom went into the hospital to have Lindsey in the middle of the night. I am sure the school secretary was a little confused when a 6th grader was calling himself in as absent from school in order to watch his younger siblings.
But as Michelle points out, I did let Dave run away in his diaper all the way down to the I-80 on ramp at Greenback Blvd. I am sure I will never live that one down.
Our favorite babysitter started babysitting for us at 14. Perfect age. She was old enough to be responisble, she was still excited about babysitting, she didn't have any other demanding job or a boyfriend. We loved her. She played so well with the boys. She babysat for us for a long time. Then she got a boyfriend and a job and it was harder to reach her but when she was available she would come. I am all about the 14 year olds.
Jason, I told Kaitlin to put that comment in because I was just waiting to have one of you say, "They didn't get babysitters." Ha, ha, ha, -- like I said, 12 year olds are better than 14 or 16 or 18 year olds. Whether it was my own kids or somebody else that did the babysitting. :)
Of course, Nora was the exception to the rule. She started when she was about 14 and stuck with us until she was 18 and we moved away. Her sisters were kind of awful, but Nora was the best!
Nora was great. Her sister, Joni, was the bane of my existance. She didn't like me and I didn't like her.
Our favorite babysitter was about 14 when we started with her. She is now married with 3 children. We liked her so much that we set Jess up on a date with her. Remember the Nutcracker, Jess?
Yes, I do remember that. It was a bit awkward, given the circumstance... -Jester
Was Joni the babysitter we (Jason, Adam, and me) tried to run away from? I seem to remember taking a few things from the house (including a pot??) and hiding outside by a garden or something. I remember the sitter being anything but happy with us when she found us! Is that memory accurate at all?
We, or at least I, ran away from her multiple times. She once tried to chase me down with a spatula. Needless to say, I took off again. I don't remember hiding out by the garden but I do remember stalking around the outside of the house occasionally showing ourselves, almost daring her to chase us. Good times.
I thought her older sister, Shelly was the one you all hated. I don't remember the name Joni at all but I know Nora had two sisters. You only liked Nora and her mom - the rest were kind of mean and gruff.
