This week has been full of good news for the family - so I'll add another detail in my saga. Today I finished my application to get into school. I talked to the Benefits office and the Admissions office and it appears that I can start this fall. I have an appointment with a counselor on the 17th to make the plan on how to get through as quickly as possible. We aren't sure if the benefits will cover the Bachelor's General Study program. If it does, that's how I will finish. If it doesn't then I have to figure out a new major and that will take longer.
I am very anxious and nervous because I honestly don't know how my brain is going to function. I am a lousy test-taker and always have been but I have a really great tutor now that I didn't have when I was in school last time. I will depend on Jim's brains for the tutoring. (Maybe if we combine his "half-heimers and my half-heimers" we will get a whole brain.)
We'll just have to see how it all goes. No dream comes easily and one thing I've learned is that God's time frame is definitely different than mine. I figure I can count on His help as well since I took time off to raise one magnificent family and help Jim through school. That's what He wanted me to do. Now I guess it gets to be my turn to pursue a dream that isn't connected with a family member.

Way to go MOM!!
Yay! It really is so awesome that you get to go back to school. I am amazed at what you have done thus far in life and think it will be so cool to see you get a degree as well.
How exciting! I think it's a fun and smart thing to get some extra schooling in, although I hate school. Good luck with all the hard parts, and have a good time with all the fun parts!
HI,
Gitche Gumme is Ojibwe name for Lake Superior. Longfellow used it in the Song of Hiawatha long before Gordon Lightfoot sang the song of the Edmond Fitchgerald.
We'll be in Utah visiting Christie from the evening of July 21 to the morning of the 29th.
What is your email. Ours is dsa3jones@chartermi.net.

The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down, from the lake that they call Gitche Gumme. The lake, it is said, never gives up her dead, when the gales of November come early.
One of the easiest songs on the guitar to play!
Stay positive and you'll be able to take those tests. You just have to know it in your heart that you CAN do it. You are smart and will get through this. Best of luck!
