Today was dang fun at work! Early this morning we heard there was a moose on the loose. We all took off to see it. It had run into some neighbor's yard into trees and we couldn't see it. Some students called the police and very quickly three cop cars came and one policeman on a bike showed up. They had called the Wildlife people and quietly followed the moose until it couldn't go any further without running into houses and high fences.
As soon as the Wildlife truck arrived with a trailer, they shot a dart at the moose and then he took off. He came down and ran across our front parking lot as you can see in top photo.
He headed over to the parking lot at the Marriott Center and then tried to jump over a car but couldn't make it. He broke the side fender over the wheel on that car and then fell over onto another car smashing the windshield before falling down where the captors could get to him.
Here are the people rolling Bullwinkle over on a tarp to get ready to haul him into the trailer. You can see the moose's leg on the right side of the picture.

They let you get that close? Did you just go up and ask them if you could take a picture? Cool!
That's pretty awesome. I'm sure no one expected to see a moose at work yesterday. What an awesome way to break up the day.

That moose must have made quite a journey to get into town, all to have his trip ruined by a dart! Living in this part of Idaho we see all sorts of wildlife everyday, so a moose just isn't exciting to me anymore.
