Wedding Dress Shopping

Gillian had planned to invite all her sisters and sisters-in-law to come shopping for a wedding dress but I asked her to do a pre-shopping trip first to narrow it down to a few that we could afford so I wouldn't embarrass her when I would say, "Nope - we can't afford to even try that one on." I was worried about the whole thing. So she was agreeable about that and just she, Kaitlin and I started the initial shopping. Gillian really doesn't like to shop any more than I do so I wasn't quite sure how the day would turn out. We went into Veronia Michael's first. That's a small shop (little red house) in Spanish Fork. I found out they rent dresses and I so I thought they would be probably a little outdated or old-looking or even used-looking. They rent out even their newest dresses for 50% of the total cost. They charge only once so when you are ready to take the dress out for bridal pictures, you can keep the dress until after the wedding with only one charge. I really liked that idea and so did Gillian. The third dress she tried on was THE one! She gasped and said, "I feel like a princess!" And she looked like one, too. It is a stunning dress. We looked at tons of dresses, but she kept coming back to that third one. We had the store hold it for us and then went to Alyse's Bridal shop at the mall in Orem. We were disgusted by the service or lack thereof and Gillian said, "I'm so done with shopping. I want that dress at Veronica's and I don't want to shop any more."
So, gals, I guess we'll by-pass the big wedding dress party. She found what she wanted and I think it's a done deal. I was very happy that she was agreeable about renting the dress. She could still purchase it if she wanted to and if she decides in the end to do that, she can but by renting the dress, she is getting exactly what she wants at a very low price rather than having to settle for something she really didn't want that we could afford. She was very wise and very conscious about the money and I was completely impressed with the whole day. We could put a picture of the dress on the blog, but then Kevin might see it. I can't wait until you all get to see it. It is so very, very gorgeous! She didn't have to have one bit of alteration done with it and she looks spectacular in the dress. One more thing checked off the list.........

Yeah! I can't wait to see it. I'm sure Gillian looked gorgeous. I rented my dress too. I didn't see the point of buying one because I wasn't ever going to wear it again. I'm glad you found one you love.
