IT'S A DONE DEAL -- OFFICIALLY!

Ok, guys - it's a done deal. Gillian & Kevin really are getting married. Buy your tickets. :)
Late this afternoon Kevin came up to our house and asked Ammon to help him out when he asked Gillian to marry him. Jim and I weren't home when Kevin first got there, but caught him before he left. He asked me to call Gillian and tell her that Ammon was really sad and needed to have her come up and play with him. We needed to get her up to the house some way. Ammon had the box with the ring in his pants pocket and the plan was that I was going to ask Kevin when the got up here when he was finally going to get this girl a ring. He was going to say, "Well if I had one then I'd give it to her right now. Ammon maybe you have one I could borrow." And then Ammon was supposed to pull the box out of his pocket and say, "Do you want to use this one?" It went almost as planned - except the box was sticking out of the side of his pocket just a little - the pants were black and the box was black so I don't know how Gillian would have noticed it but she did and asked him what it was. Ammon said, "A box," and Gillain said, "What's in the box?" (really not suspecting anything at that moment) and then Ammon said, "A ring." So Gillian looked at Kevin and then at Ammon and said, "Is it for me?!" And then Ammon took the box out and handed it to Kevin. She started to shake and scream.



















Kevin actually got down on his knee and said, "Gillian will you marry me?" She was trying hard not to cry and then gave him a hug, nearly knocking him over.



















You can see her excitement. I think she was expecting him to give it to her at some romantic spot, but he really caught her off guard and surprised her. It was actually one of the sweetest things in the world because he knows how much Gillian adores Ammon. It was so sweet to include him in this special moment of their lives. It was also fun to see how unafraid Kevin was to do this in front of us. He's quiet much of the time. I think we are getting to know him better all the time.



















This is the ring on her finger - the diamond actually sits down inside the two outer bands so this is the wedding and engagement ring together. The diamonds are not large, but it's a very gorgeous ring and very different.




















Can you see that joy?! This was really fun - I've never been with my kids when they got engaged and it was super exciting to be right there.

Once Gillian settled down a little, we decided to walk over to the Biglers to show Kevin where we will have the reception. This is outside the yard under one of their beautiful trees. It will be a fun place to spend an evening.
