This morning I plugged my curling iron into the bathroom outlet to the right of the sink.
It didn't come on like usual. I figured it was finally broken for I've used it since college. It had a great life.
However before throwing it out, I plugged it into another outlet. I did just that and it works just fine.
I tried plugging other things into the outlet in the bathroom and nothing works.
What's wrong and how do I fix it?

Check the fuses. That same thing happened to me about 2 weeks ago with my blow dryer. Somehow a fuse just needed to get flipped.
That has happened to me and the fix was just what Chelsey did. Also, this might seem silly but once that happened and we discovered that the red test button in the other bathroom needed to be pressed--I guess the two bathrooms are connected. And sometimes it is just the red test button in the plug that isn't working.
Thanks for the suggestion of the fuse box. I went to the basement and sure enough it was that, everything is great now!
The GCFI button probably just needs pushed (the little red one Adrianne mentioned). If that doesn't do it, have Caleb replace the outlet when he gets home.
Never mind, it looks like you got it fixed.
We don't have a GCFI button in that bathroom Jason. Probably should get one to avoid this again.
"...have Caleb replace the outlet when he gets home." That made me laugh. What is he? Your handyman? Reminds me of good old cult film "Princess Bride." Farm boy, fetch me that pitcher...
Caleb does all the light switch changes and outlet changes because he totally "gets it" when it comes to electrical work. Not sure if you all know but Caleb fixed our air conditioner when he was only 8 years old. He is amazing with electrical stuff, truly gifted!
