This morning Lance & Jess came up to help Dad install the new dishwasher. Jess told me that he wanted Dad to be the foreman but that he and Lance would do the work. It was a very big job since the gas line to the stove ran on the floor in front of the dishwasher. That line had to be taken out just to get the old dishwasher out and then put back in after the new one was installed. Here are the guys working on taking out the old dishwasher. Dad was up and down on the floor a lot today - he's probably pretty tired as would be Jess & Lance. Out comes the old dishwasher.

Lance had to leave after the old dishwasher was taken out because he had to pick up Nancy, but he was a big help.
The new one is now in and they are hooking up the water lines.
Lance helped remove the upper cupboards above the stove. I have wanted to do this for a very long time. He unscrewed it and he and I carried them out into the garage. It opened up the kitchen a lot. We are now committed to the kitchen upgrade. It may take a year or so, but we have now begun the process! YEAH!!
The job is complete!
Look at how open the kitchen is now without those cupboards.
Dishes are now being washed and the kitchen is finally clean. I know Lance will appreciate the cleaned off counters. It was a pretty dirty room most of the day. The dishwasher is a very nice one - in fact, it is a thing of beauty!
Thank you to all of you for your part in purchasing this dishwasher. Thanks to Lance and Jess for all their hard work. It took about 6 hours to complete the task. We would have had a hard time getting this done without your nimble fingers.

Sweet! Looks great. Oh, and Lance, in the picture of you and I carrying the old one out, your arms look chiseled. You must be proud. -Jess
It looks great. I love he look on your face mom in the picture where the cupboards are going out; you look excited to have them gone. Thanks for helping mom and dad put that in.
Lance is hot!
Looks good ma. I need a better shot of the dishwasher though. I hope all your kitchen dreams come true...
