Last night we attended the Salem Hills High School Christmas choir concert called "Wintertide." It was a wonderful night and it was pleasing to see the progress the choirs have made under this new, very young director since the first concert. They also had the orchestra play and then combined the choir and orchestra for a couple of ending songs that were gorgeous and received a standing ovation.
But the best part of the night was when a confident, beautiful young woman came out on stage to sing a solo, "The Holiday Song," (I'm not sure that is the official name but it's the one that has the beginning of "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire...."). She did a slow jazz style arranged by herself and she blew the socks off everyone. She brought the house down. Her name was Kaitlin Clark. Wow! That's all I can say. I wish all of you would have been able to hear her because it was truly a treat. She has a mellow tone but has great volume when needed. Her runs weren't over the top - simple but beautiful. WE FINALLY HAVE OUR JAZZ SINGER!!
Congratulations, Kaitlin, to a job well done. The Clark girls just keep impressing us.

Awesome! I'm glad to hear the superstar performed well. I think the song is called "The Christmas Song." Glad you guys got to go watch her perform! -Jester
Hey, somebody record her and then put it on the blog. I'd LOVE to hear it.
Congrats Kaitlin. I'm proud of you. It takes a lot of nerve to do that. That is also my second favorite christmas song (the first being Holy Night). I wish I was there to hear it.

The only one of my sisters that I have been able to listen to is Gillian. And as much as I enjoyed listening to her (because she is incredible), I am extremely jealous of the rest of you who have been able to hear them all.
Great job again Katy! You always know how to hit the mark! Wish I could've been there too!
