HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JIM BOB! Deep snow. He got a very nice winter coat from Jess & Jen but happily he didn't wear it out in the dusty pigeon loft. The coat he has on here isn't allowed in the house - ever!

Winter Scenes
We had a great Christmas day in Elk Ridge yesterday. The weather was very bad in Salt Lake County and not a whole lot better in Utah County until about Springville. Jess & Jen traveled through the mess to bring us a dishwasher! It was a great surprise and one that brought us a lot of excitement. I worried all day long about everyone traveling back home. The storm held off in Elk Ridge until about 8:30 last night. The wind blew very hard all afternoon and then it warmed up a lot - icicles were dripping and a light mist started. At 8:30 I could hear the pelting of hail through our fireplace. We went to bed with the pelting sound and woke up to a world of white. I thought you might all enjoy the sight of winter. In one snowfall, this is probably as much as we've ever seen since living up here. Our neighbors came and helped dig out one car. We still have a lot of digging to do but it's still snowing so we will wait until it has ended to finish the job.

The dishwasher was Chelsey's idea and she did the coordination with the brothers and sisters. I was simply the guy who bought it at the store and drove it down. For those of you who are interested, we bought an Amana ADB1500AWZ dishwasher with a silver metallic bottom. Check out http://www4.shopping.com/xPO-Amana-ADB1500AWZ-Silver-Metallic for an example.
Wow. That is a lot of snow. It is 76 degrees right now. We will get cold again but I am sure grateful for the nice warm break. I miss the snow though. We haven't gotten any this year. We haven't gotten any rain or ice for a long time either.
