I talked to her today around noon and she was still without power. She mentioned that they have a gas stove and gas water heater, so they've been able to cook and have warm showers since the power went out on Sunday. One of their ward members got their power back so they brought a generator over to the Pughs, who used it to plug in their fridge.
Chelsey was getting frustrated. The kids were able to go back to school today, though.
Ike happened. I didn't realize it either but my sister and parents lost power for a day and lost all their fridge stuff. My parents lost a tree in the front yard. I guess winds were 70 m.p.h. and heavy rains from the hurricane. I didn't realize it could get so far inland and affect Ohio, but I was wrong. It was predicted in some spots to loose power for a week, but they got their power back in 1 day. Sorry Chelsey to hear your power is still not back.
No one could get ice anywhere to save their food because the entire state was wiped out of ice, water and all other emergency supplies. Good things to keep on hand, don't you think? We learned that with the flood.
They now have power. Sarah called us last night to ask us some questions about when we were in second grade and the power came on right when she was talking to us. They have been without power since about Sunday. I think that was when it hit - it may have been Saturday. They didn't get rain - just horribly high winds and lots of damage to trees, trampolines, BBQ grill, etc., in their area. we are so glad they are safe! Mom
It happened Sunday during Church. They actually cut their meetings short so people could get home to check on their houses. Chelsey said their gazebo thing on their deck was shredded, but they really didn't have much damage to their house at all.
Now that she's got power, she'll have to fill us all in! -Jess

What am I missing? What happened in Ohio that caused them to miss school and have no power?
