This one's for you, Dad

Well, here you go Dad! You've been bugging me for YEARS about getting a piano at home for the kids. We found a digital one last night for a good deal. Geoff told us last night at bedtime that it was the best day of his life. (Is that all it took??) It's a used one, but it's perfect for us all to learn on and move around. Actually, moving it is ridiculous. It's incredibly heavy. The kids haven't left it alone since we got it. Sarah's already trying to figure out the fingerings and notes, now I just need to find a teacher. Lessons are really expensive out here. Are they $20/half hour out there now too?! Even my ward members are charging that! I've got one more person to ask and if she's no cheaper, it's going to be me teaching them for a little while.

This one is really for you! Just think about how happy you will be to have kids who play. You will be able to teach them to sing along with their playing, and what fun. This time will go down as one of the most significant things you ever did, mark my word. Do you know how wonderful it was to have Mother's skill in our home, and even the old piano that she learned on? I even fell madly in love with her singing together as she played before I went on my mission. We learned Sunrise, Sunset.

Good luck to you and Brent. Actually with the natural talent of your kids, luck may not even be needed.

Glad Dad Clark

Lessons are expensive. Daniel's guitar lessons are $22. for a half hour lesson. I know it's a lot, but this teacher came highly recommended. So far from what I've seen the teacher is excellent and Daniel is doing so great, he's only 2 months into the lessons.

Cool piano! I'm glad you convinced Brent to let you get it.

Oh, I'm jealous. I've been thinking about pianos lately and I wish we could have one, too! Maybe someday! My mom said I could have theirs, but I will have to wait until they don't want it anymore, which wouldn't be until they die most likely!
But congrats on getting one!

I teach piano lessons to beginner students out here and I only charge $10 a lesson. Of course, I would feel guilty charging more than that because I'm not a professionaly, but I think I'm a good teacher for beginners. $20 is outragiously expensive. I have 10 students right now, so it's nice to have the extra cash.
